Advantage and Disadvantage of dofollow , nofollow blog
Whether a blog should be dofollow or nofollow ?
Most of the top bloggers have a no-follow blog and will suggest to leave nofollow attribute on your blog and some [ like me ] will suggest to add dofollow attrible to your blog.
Both of the attributes have there own advantages and disadvantages.
Below are some of the advantages and disadvantages of dofollow and nofollow blogs i think that would surely be useful for bloggers out there but even if you think that you should swap your attribute , then no problem you can again go reversible , its just 10 sec work
Almost blog software comes with rel="nofollow" attribute on any hyperlink on their comment system. This code will tell google ,yahoo , bing and other search engines to ignore hyperlink on the comment system. It means if you put url when you submit comment to these kinda blogs , google etc will not count this as backlink. This method is used by google etc to stop spam on comments in order they can't get backlink by commenting . But some bloggers have modified their blog to remove nofollow on their blog comment. It means if you put url when you give comment, google will count your url as backlink. Its then called as do - follow blog.

Advantages of Dofollow Blogs :
- It is not just you give free backlink to the others but you can get comment for your posting.
- Usually people love to comment on do follow blog because they will get free backlink while some ppl out there really like to thank the author for the solution they get on blog after googling for the perfect answer of their doubt !
- You can also promote or get backlink by free because there are many posting that list all do follow blog.
- Ask blog owner to insert your blog into their do follow blog list and you will get free backlink.
- Yeah even most of the do-follow directories are free !
- Dofollow blogs attract visitors :D

- Get huge traffic and Increase in Page views , Great Pagerank and all SEO stuff to land up on 1st page search results on Search engines [ Only if you have Quality Content ]
Disadvantages of Dofollow Blogs
- Lots of spammy comments :-\
- Takes a lot of time to moderate all the comments
- Link Juice will be distributed on all out bond links
There could be more , but i have till now encountered only these many :)
To avoid this you can add akismet or captcha and moderate every comment before publishing it to your blog or best is leave moderation and delete all spam comments in one Go !
Some user maybe don't like this method but it's good way for you to eliminate spam and garbage comment and of course Less but thoughtful and suitable comments .
And for No-Follow blogs , you will be lucky for
Advantages of Nofollow Blogs :
- Spammers will not spam your blog
- Only interested visitor will post comments on your blog
- less time to moderate comments
- Link Juice will not be distributed on those link which will includes in comments.
Disadvantages of Nofollow Blogs :
- Less amount of comments even for great stuff !
- Some Bloggers will not share there opinion even if they want to , because of nofollow attribute .

hmm i'm still confused whether I should use nofollow or dofollow to my blog. all atributes have their profit and losses :(
well I Use DoFollow , u know , a bit more time to manage your comment is worth having more ppl opinion , plus using akismat on WP is helping to keep spams away strongly !
I wonder whether this do-follow and no follow tags ahve importance still now or not.

I can answer that question for you Sourav. A couple of days ago there was a web conference about SEO and it was announced by Google that posting on multiply do follow blogs will help your website.

dofollow tag can bring a lot of traffic towards your site. becuase its like a bait which attract the SEO peoples to come your blog for the link.
No doubt in it that both of the attributes have their own adv and didadv. if a no follow link is not contributed in your link popularity then its even then giving you traffic which is in benefit of you. so keep on commenting it will pay you all the way around.
I have always believed in do follow. It will generate more comments and you reward those people with a backlink. The problem is that people will take advantage of it, but with a little extra time you can still moderate the comments.

In my point of view advantages of do follow is better post than any other post. Do follow blog is better because we get traffic in Google by the other sites. Obviously here some changes to come spam comments but here lots of profit than less loss.

Another point is that nofollow links can still help with rankings. I’ve seen this happen plenty of times.
Yes, generic comment spamming is bad. But many bloggers don’t understand SEO very well thus delete worthy comments.

I have seen a lot of people starting to use DoFollow, then switching to Nofollow. My personal opinion is that on a general site it makes sense where you want a discussion. On niche sites, the spam may be a lot higher as many people comment without being aware of what the site is about.

Yes blog commenting helps to increase inbound links, But you should check weather the blog allows do follow attribute or not. If you comment on no follow attribute blogs , You are not going to get any thing of it. So make a list of do follow blogs, try to write relevant comment on the topic or relate to the post. Otherwise blog admin won't approve your post.

Yeah ofcourse there is pros and cons of every thing and same is the case of dollow and nofollow.There are many advantages of dofollow but only one big disadvantage is distribution of link juice which covers all adavantages and encourages blogger to go for nofollow links.I think bloggers should adopt the policies like all approved links will be do follow.I know its practically difficult for moderating but may be the only solution.Do you know any other solution for this?
