CD/DVD burning is very common now and whoever purchases DVD writer gets full version software , usually Nero is where people opt for being most famous and very smart software , but which causes almost 70 to 80 $ if you buy directly , see
here , if your CD is lost or is corrupted .Even ubuntu have Brasero as default as
DVD Burner /Writing tool .

Out of all the software you listed, I think that Star Burn has got to be the best. Now, I haven't tried all the software, but I have tried most, and I've got to say that, for me, Star Burn was the easiest and gave great results.

I too only use Nero, but hey if its free its for me,lol. I will have to check the list out. I have a friend who uses Burn4Free and I guess hes satisfied. Thanks for the resource.

I installed Nero 8.0 but again rolled back to Nero 6.0 as Ver 8.0 was heavy

I using it because my nero is very limited :)
You can always download the old version of Nero, it's all free. As long as it can write to disc and re write it's all good. The only difference of the latest Nero is the options. Burn4free is great I've used it already to some places and computers that doesn't have Nero installed on it.
Nero's DVD writer is one of if not the best out there but this list of alternatives are a smarter choice. Thanks for the list.

I tried StarBurn because I like the name lol. It's great. Uses less resources too.
I am using Nero from past many years and i am happy with it.But i would also like to use burn4free as i have heard a lot about it.

Starburn is the best alternative of Nero. Works perfectly and easy to use. It doesn't have a lot of troubles.
