                    Tweetie was considered one of the best experiences for Twitter on the iPhone has now become  the official Twitter client. Twitter had announced that they've acquired Tweetie .According to Twitter's announcement, Tweetie will be renamed Twitter for iPhone . Now this application which once charged $2.99 for downloading is now a free app in the App Store .
            Recent analysis of the Twitter user experience in the iTunes AppStore revealed massive room for improvement.

          We're thrilled to announce that we've entered into an agreement with Atebits (aka Loren Brichter) to acquire Tweetie, a leading iPhone Twitter client. Tweetie will be renamed Twitter for iPhone and made free in the iTunes AppStore in the coming weeks. Loren will become a key member of our mobile team that is already having huge impact with device makers and service providers around the world. Loren's work won the 2009 Apple Design Award and we will eventually launch Twitter for iPad with his help.

       This announcement came less than a week before Twitter’s developer conference, Chirp. It also came on the same day that Twitter announced an official Blackberry app with many other cool apps .  However the Tweetie desktop application, which is available on the Mac only has not been acquired by twitter and i guess this too becomes "Twitter For Mac" soon .
